Volunteer Country Manager – Liberia
Job Summary
The volunteer Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire country RHSC youth volunteer program and volunteer management. This position will be responsible for establishing and nurturing our youth volunteers’ activities, improve partnerships with organizations and other CBO’s and help Restoring Hope for Survivors Liberia Inc. positively impact youth through its volunteer community programming implementation. The primary purpose of these programs is encouraged young Liberian youth to participate into volunteerism and be inspired to lead and continued participation.
The country Volunteer Manager will oversee our Volunteer Program, operation, program management, volunteer recruitment, finance and administration. This position will also serve as a lead coach during programming hours and assist the CEO of RHSC Liberia Inc with a variety of tasks ranging from organization, reporting program support, coordination and others.
Job Purpose: To manage and develop RHSC Liberia volunteer Program

Reporting to: Founder & CEO RHSC Liberia Inc.
Responsibilities

Manage the Liberia field office
-
Manage the field office and carry out an annual appraisal of all reporting staff
-
Support youth Volunteer Workers (YVWs) in their placements through induction, supervision and appropriate feedback

Manage the workload of the field office and monitor the annual work-plan

Promote a culture of communication and lesson-learning throughout the Country Program including on spot training, mentorship and other methods
2. Implement and develop the country strategy

Implement and develop the Liberia Program Country Strategy, within nation Service’s overall organisational strategy, consulting widely with partners and other interested parties

Produce an annual work-plan

Provide direct management support and oversight to national Service’s projects in-country
3. Develop the country program
-
Travel regularly throughout Liberia, forging relationships with new partners to maximise the effectiveness of our volunteer community development initiatives
4. Ensure effective monitoring and impact assessment

Comply with reporting requirements and ensure compliance on the part of RHSC’s, volunteers’ activities

Contribute to the development of systems to better measure and demonstrate the impact of our work

Draw up terms of reference for external evaluations
5. Manage the Program’s finances & fundraising
·Produce a draft annual budget and monitor expenditure
·Produce timely monthly accounts and submit to RHSC International Service HQ

Collaborate proactively with colleagues in seeking funding for Program, placements and related activities, and in complying with donor requirements

Develop and promote a strategy for organisational income generation within Liberia
6. Communicate Program activities

Proactively support International Service’s publicity and communications aims, ensuring contributions from staff, volunteers and beneficiaries in Liberia. Requirements may include contributions to in-house and/or external publications, providing photos, success stories, articles and other materials as requested by RHSC International Service’s communications team.

Provide information for RHSC International Service’s global website as required and ensure that the Liberia field office’s website is up to date.
7. Represent International Service

Represent International Service on relevant CBO’s national NGO and GOV bodies and at funding events

Represent RHSC International Service on NGO networks and seek to promote effective networking and collaborative working practices throughout the Program

RHSC Liberia Inc seeks a person willing to work as volunteer and will in the position be able to use his or personal resources in the execution of his/her duties:
Essential requirements:

A college degree level or equivalent

Minimum 1 years’ experience in a development context, including management of people and resources

Substantial knowledge, experience and understanding of development issues in Liberia

Proven ability to think analytically and plan strategically, including setting objectives, monitoring and evaluating impact, and identifying and applying opportunities for learning and development

Strong people management skills with the ability to support and motivate a culturally diverse volunteer team and development workers

Good judgement and ability to use initiative and make decisions in complex, challenging and sensitive situations

Participatory and collaborative working approach

Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people across a variety of settings

Demonstrable track record in working with volunteer generation

Fluent English and French

Position: Volunteer Partnership & Training Manager
Job Summary
The volunteer Partnership & Training Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire country RHSC youth volunteer program and volunteer management. This position will be responsible for establishing and nurturing our youth volunteers’ activities, improve partnerships with organizations and other CBO’s; and help Restoring Hope for Survivors Liberia Inc positively impact youth through its volunteer community programming implementation. The primary purpose of these programs is encouraged young Liberian youth to participate into volunteerism and be inspired to lead and continued participation. The partnership & Training Manager will establish a strong partnership strategy during our Volunteer project implementation, coordinate meeting, link project and advertise our activities, represent our program in partnership and coordination meeting. Search for Training and local resource for mobilization. This position will also serve as a strong link between our program and other organization during programming hours and assist the CEO of RHSC Liberia Inc with a variety of tasks ranging from organization, reporting program support, coordination and others.

Supervises: oversee youth volunteer partnership activities in four counties in Liberia (Bong, Lofa ,Nimba and Margibi)

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinates country-level and national partnerships to enhance the RHSC Volunteer programming. Serves as liaison between counties and national partners organizations and volunteer activities at the various project areas.

Develops and implements a comprehensive plan to build, expand, and strengthen partnerships in the counties and communities. Identifies ways in which partners can contribute to our youth volunteer program activities increase success, including developing sponsorship opportunities and securing business or community sponsorships for district programs and publications. Develops goals, regular reports, and metrics to measure success.

Develops informational and marketing materials to build awareness for the importance of community involvement in schools. Assists other departments with marketing material design as needed.

Coordinates the district's volunteer program. Identifies outreach activities to encourage community members to volunteer in schools as tutors, helpers, buddies, mentors, docents, etc.

Works with administrators and school teams to develop procedures and training programs to provide support to volunteers interested in assisting in schools.

Develops and maintains systems, policies, and procedures to coordinate partnerships with businesses, parents, and community volunteers.

Partners with community organizations and committees to organize and promote events, such as the District’s Back to School Fair or induction to the Wall of Honor.

Participates on the organizing team for Community Serve Day, promotes the event, and acts as liaison to principals and COMMUNITY LEADERS .

Utilizes a variety of communication channels and tools to keep staff members, parents, and the community informed about the District including, but not limited to e-mail, e-newsletters, district website, and other internal and external publications.

Serves as a resource and district liaison for multiple organizations, such as the Bothell Kenmore Chamber of Commerce, Northshore YMCA and Northshore Council PTSA.

Promotes awareness and recognition of partnerships, volunteers, and community liaisons that enhance district educational programs and reinforce the objectives of the district's goals.

Acts as a liaison to the community during bond and levy election campaigns.

Assists with communications during major incidents or school schedule changes and on a variety of communication department projects as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned and make sure you use your personal skill and material resources, finances to maintain the growth and development of the organization and facilitate legal frameworks to advocate for RHSC legalization documentation and capacities buildings of the team.
